If you are travelling from another part of India

Dear All,
If you are trying to reach Swami from any part of country, i will highlight some important points in brief. If you have further questions, dont hesitate to ask.
1- Swami may be in Puttaparthi (Anantpur district, Andhra Pradesh) or in Whitefield (outskirts of Bangalore, Karnataka) or any other place in India at any time. His location should be checked before you make your travel plan.
2- If you are coming to Puttaparthi, you are expected to bring your own bedding for overnight stay. Most of the times you will get a hall /shed to reside in without furnitures. It will however have bathrooms and toilets and an assigned seva dal person(volunteer) for the entire hall.
3- You need to pay nominal charges for staying in the shed. You would need to register at the reception office, when you enter Ashram.
4- You can deposit your expensive items in a locker at no cost.
5- South indian / north indian and western style food is available at minimal cost. Everyday food is blessed by Swami and is thus considered "prasad".
6- If you seek little more comfort, you can stay in a hotel outside and the charges can vary from 150 to 500 ruppees for 24 hours. You can bargain and normally they bring down the charges if you stay for more than a day.
7- Puttaparthi is connected well by road and railways. You can figure out the best way to reach there.
8- Normally people are not allowed to stay inside the ashram if swami is not there, however if you were ignorant of that fact and came by mistake, you will be allowed stay inside.
N.B.
Just to give you an example, the everyday cost of living in puttaparthi inside the ashram for a person would not exceed INR 50.
Will update you with more details later. Sai blesses you All.

Dear Friends,
As I stay in Bangalore, i have never availed the accomodation facilities in Whitefield ashram or any outside accomodation. I have no clue as to how people can manage their stay there. If you have stayed in whitefield, Bangalore; please share some useful tips for the benefit of everybody in the forum.
Sai always watches you and looks after you.

Accomodation for indian devotees

Some more pointers for indian devotees for stay in Puttaparthi:
1) At arrival you are requested to proceed to arrival office.
2) Based on the availability you can get one of these accomodation facilities: rooms for families OR dormitories called Halls.
A single person is not alloted a room.
3) Porters are available and after payment you can take help of them for carrying your luggage.
4) In case the room has only one key you might be permitted to use your own lock.
5) Cooking is not permitted in shared rooms which have no separate kitchens.
Sai Ram to all of you.
