Beware the worm of self-conceit that feeds on the faults of others;
destroy the sense of self-importance
which eats like a canker the bud of one's pure aspirations.

My random musings - part 3

You know sometimes we understand certain things better when we are taught it in a different manner. This could be a lesson imparted in a different scenario, this could be a written text in an altogether different style. I was reading a book from Osho and found certain things explained very nicely. These truths are known to us however they do not penetrate deep into our heart because we have become immune to the mode of delivery of the truth. I will share some of the stuff which i read in "hindi" by Osho over here. There is no literal translation, just what i could understand.
Has any time one of our tooths got removed or came off on its own? You would remember that your tongue always goes at the place where there is no tooth. However when the tooth was there, the tongue never cared. We never care how our heart beats untill one day it skips one of its beats. You know loss of something is the biggest reason of its reminder. As long as that thing is there, we take it for granted.
Similarly, the biggest regret we will have when we will be near our death bed would be if we could not live our life in the best possible manner. We will appreciate the value and importance of our life then. Isn't this surprising? We human beings are being given the gift of life however we are not born with the awareness of its importance. We take it for granted. We misuse our life in meaningless pursuits. I hope we do not wait till a heart beat skips to make us realise the importance of our life.
May God bless you. Peace and love.

We come across ourselves trying to acquire knowledge without any compassion, without any love, without any attitude of helping people, doing service, without any idea of how to live in harmony with people, with no idea of how to work in a team etc. You know it is very easy to acquire scripture's knowledge because our mind can record the information and we can be like parrots repeating the knowledge gained. But such a knowledge does not bring any change in the life of ours.
A person who is knowledgeable, kind and compassionate rejuvenates the person who comes in contact with her or him. People will seek his/her company for spiritual guidance, spiritual solace and just for the seer peace and calm which they feel in the company of the person. Just sit back and think are you like that? If not, you are just becoming parrot, this knowledge is on a surface level. This is not going to seep into you, till you are fertile with love, this knowledge will not sprout till you do not have the water of compassion. Think about it.
Lives will be lost without realising this truth. Love, love and love people. Do not use scriptures and other spiritual concepts to cover your own faults. You will sink deeper into darkness and the light of knowledge will not be able to reach you if you lack love, empathy and compassion. Om Sai Ram.
Peace and love to all.
