How to differentiate between the voice of Swami or god in our conscious from that of the ego filled mind, is an important question. Swami has clarified this point in a different way. He has said, "The voice of God can be heard, when the mind is sufficiently silent. What is a 'silent mind'. In fact, mind is nothing but the web of thoughts. A hand kerchief is made up of warp and woof of threads. If we pull each thread separately from the kerchief, ultimately there won't be any kerchief to view. Likewise, if we are able to remove  the thoughts one by one from the mind, when all thoughts are removed, there won't be any mind to call. Here, we may get a serious doubt. How to eliminate the thoughts which are independent of any efforts and involuntary. Yes, thoughts arise from food and environment as per Swami. But we should just watch the thoughts and do nothing about it. We should not get involved in the thoughts but simply witness them as a mute witness. Then, it won't harm us. If the body follow the whims of the mind, we are sure to meet troubles. Hence do not follow the mind and remain 'indifferent' to the thought process. Initially it will try to defeat you but with persistent indifference, we can subdue  the rush of thoughts in our mental firmament.Sairam.Why i write this in 'experiences' column. This is my personal experience. Sairam.
